| A flight of Thunderchiefs en route to bomb a railway bridge encountered heavy flak about 10 miles north of Kep that badly damaged one of the aircraft (call sign Kodak). Capt Blevins steered southeast but was forced to eject about 24 miles from Kep and could not evade due to a broken leg so was quickly captured. John Blevins, who was on his 85th mission when he was shot down, was given no medical treatment and was nursed back to a reasonable degree of health by his prison roommates. He was released on 4 March 1973. |
