| A repeat of the Crusader landing accident on Christmas Eve happened on board the Ticonderoga on Boxing Day with the same results, a broken aircraft and a chastened pilot. The aircraft hit the deck and went over the side but the pilot ejected and was rescued. The crash was observed by the entertainer Bob Hope who was putting on a Christmas show for the sailors on the Ticonderoga. |
