| The Midway lost a Corsair as it was being launched for a strike mission about 40 miles off the DMZ. The launch appeared normal at first but then the aircraft dived into the sea and the pilot was killed in the accident. Although a helicopter dropped a diver near the aircraft within 45 seconds of the Corsair hitting the water, there was no sign of Lt Lindahl, who must have gone down in his aircraft. |
