| A flight of Phantoms on a Steel Tiger interdiction mission found enemy troops in the open near Ban Soppeng in Laos, 10 miles south of the Mu Gia Pass. The aircraft started their attack but it was not until Capt Adams’s tenth pass that his aircraft (call sign Boxer) was shot down by ground fire. The aircraft was dropping napalm at the time, which would have required a low-level delivery. |
