| A flight of F-100s from Tuy Hoa was making a night strike on a group of trucks near Tavouac in southern Laos. 1Lt Willett was seen to put his Super Sabre (call sign Litter 2) into a dive from 5,000 feet but his aircraft was then hit by 37mm anti-aircraft fire and crashed near the truck convoy. Robert Willett, who had been married only six weeks before he left for Vietnam, was not seen to eject and was presumed killed. |
