| Another strike aircraft was lost over the Plain of Jars as more missions were flown over the region as a result of increased pressure from the Pathet Lao and North Vietnamese and the greater aircraft availability resulting from the end of the Rolling Thunder campaign. A flight of F-105s was attacking a storage area near Ban Thuang when one of the aircraft (call sign Barracuda) was hit during its fourth strafing run. Maj Bogiages was not seen to eject from his Thud before it crashed. This aircraft was painted as ‘Big Kahuna’ at some stage during its career with the Takhli Wing. |
