| An O-1 (call sign Tonto 4) was shot down during a FAC mission near Phuoc Long, 25 miles southwest of Qui Nhon while supporting the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Maj Ferguson was diving his aircraft at a target when the aircraft was hit by ground fire and crashed before he could bail out. |
