| Another Night Owl Phantom was lost on the night of the 22nd. Capt Crews had spotted a convoy of six trucks on a road 20 miles west of Dong Hoi and rolled in to the attack. The aircraft (call sign Dipper) crashed near the road, possibly as a result of being hit by 85mm AAA. There was no sign of any ejection and it was presumed that both men had been killed in the crash. |
