| A Bird Dog was shot down while controlling an air strike close to the town of Ninh Hoa, 15 miles north of the aircraft’s base at Nha Trang. Maj Greer’s aircraft (call sign Cutie 2) was hit by small arms fire at 1,000 feet but he crash-landed without injury about one mile from the town and was safely recovered. |
