| A Wolfpack Phantom was lost during a night interdiction mission over the Ho Chi Minh Trail in southern Laos. Lt Col Green and 1Lt Irsch were attacking a truck they had seen on a road when their aircraft was hit by ground fire. The aircraft crashed in a valley near Ben Kapay, about 20 miles west of the DMZ. There was no evidence at the time to suggest that either of the crew had been able to escape from the aircraft. |
