| Several flights of F-105s took part in the search for Lt Ilg who ejected from his A-4 on 3 June. The F-105s escorted SAR aircraft and helicopters and also took part in the visual search for the downed pilot. Capt Kosko’s aircraft was hit and damaged somewhere over Laos but he just managed to make it back across the Thai border before being forced to eject about 20 miles east of Vientiane. Unfortunately, Capt Kosko was shot down and killed a few weeks later on 27 July 1965. |
