| The Huong Vi railway yard, five miles northwest of Kep, was the target for a raid on the 6th. One of the F-4s (call sign Outlaw) was hit by AAA as it climbed away from the target and the crew were forced to eject soon afterwards. Both men were captured and imprisoned. 1Lt Pollack was on his first tour in Southeast Asia having come straight from training at Davis-Monthan AFB and had flown 78 missions. Maj Hughey had flown as a FAC pilot and had flown a phenomenal 564 missions in total, 106 of these were over North Vietnam. Both men were released in Operation Homecoming on 4 March 1973. |
