Below are the details of the loss you selected from the list of search results:

Date: 6 June 1967
Aircraft type: F-100D Super Sabre
Serial Number: 55-3766
Military Unit: 416 TFS, 37 TFW
Service: USAF
Home Base: Phu Cat
Name(s):
Capt Duane Scott Baker (KIA)

Work on the base at Phu Cat was started on 1 May 1966 and by the end of the month a temporary 3,000 feet runway had been built to allow further construction material to be flown in. By March 1967 the base was almost complete and the 37th TFW moved in to join two squadrons of C-7 Caribous that had arrived earlier in the year. The first aircraft lost from Phu Cat was an F-100 from the 416th TFS. On 6 June a flight of F-100s was strafing a number of VC structures about 15 miles northwest of Quang Ngai when one of the aircraft (call sign Silver 3) dived into the ground, probably as a result of enemy fire. Capt Baker had no time to eject and was killed.
