| During a BARCAP mission two Phantoms from VF-92 (call signs Silver Kite 201 and 207) collided in mid-air with the loss of one man from each of the aircraft. Lt Szeyller had asked Ens Martin to close up and look for signs of a suspected fire in the aircraft’s nose. The two survivors were Cdr J L Rough and Lt(jg) C R Jones but it is not known who was in which aircraft. |
