| In one of the worst aviation accidents to happen to a US Navy aircraft during the war in Southeast Asia, all 25 passengers and crew were killed when a C-47 crashed on an administrative flight. The aircraft was on a flight from Cam Ranh Bay to Saigon and crashed near Phan Rang. The cause of the accident is not known. This aircraft had previously been used for VIP duties by the air attachés in Paris and London. |
