| A flight of Marine Corps A-4s was attacking a target near Duc Pho near the coast about 35 miles south of Chu Lai, when they encountered small arms and automatic weapons fire. Capt Booher had just pulled up from his second pass when his aircraft was hit in the fuselage. The aircraft stayed controllable just long enough for him to cross the beach and eject seconds before it plunged into the sea. Capt Booher was later picked up by a Navy vessel. |
